123 Estate Agent Can Now Sell and Let Property

123 Estate Agent are allowed to sell and let property

The government has pushed through legislative changes tonight that will see the rental and sales market reopen tomorrow in England.

Housing Secretary Robert Jenrick said those “waiting patiently to move can now do so” as long as it is carried out under social distancing and safety rules.

Mr Jenrick said the government’s “step-by-step plan” will enable people “to move home safely, covering each aspect of the sales and letting process, from viewings to removals”.

The updated regulations, presented to Parliament by Health Secretary Matt Hancock, also allow people to leave their homes to collect goods ordered from businesses and travel to waste or recycling centres.

It is part of Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s “conditional plan” – which he outlined on Sunday – to reopen society, including encouraging people to return to work if they could not work from home.

This bill has been – and continues to be – used to restrict travel during the Coronavirus crisis and includes a short list of exemptions such as travelling to a hospital and to buy food.

This list has now been joined by five new exemptions that enable members of the public to visit both sales or lettings agencies, developers’ sales offices and show homes; view properties for sale or rent; prepare properties prior to moving in; and move home.

Estate Agents are also allowed to visit any rental and sales property to get them ready, which means, property valuations create 3D video tours, photography and floor plans.
